The reason Matiangi avoids Luo Nyanza is because he did NOTHING in Luo Nyanza. Did nothing in terms of hiring Luos in senior roles of Uhuru government, where he used to stall Luo.
Matiangi treated Luos so badly and adopted a very hostile attitude towards Luo Leaders — including Raila Odinga — while he was at the helm of Interior.
He used the dying days of COVID to stall Raila’s campaigns, arbitrarily locking down the country and together with Kagwe, cooking COVID figures each time ODM pushed for opening up the country for campaigns.
Never mind DP Ruto (as he then was) had rejected Matiangi/Uhuru games and hit the campaign trail. Ruto chose to host people, thousands of delegations mostly from murima, in his DP residence office in Karen. If not for Ruto’s disregard of COVID rules; Matiangi would have locked down the country till today!
Any Nyanza government official who treats Luo Nyanza like trash must lose in Luo Nyanza.
This was how Homa Bay Pier looked like when Matiangi, the DE FACTO President under Uhuru’s second term and thro’out handshake, was on top of things.
